I know he's not won a championship, but he is generally a winning coach.

We will see this year in the playoffs. It will be interesting if they can keep up the pace, and if they actually play defense at a playoff level.

Mike D'Antoni and Spoelstra are co-Coaches of the Year as voted on by the 30 NBA coaches.

D'Antoni and Spoelstra are the co-recipients of the inaugural Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year Award, the National Basketball Coaches Association announced on Sunday.

What makes the award special is that it was voted on exclusively by the 30 NBA coaches, while the NBA Coach of the Year award is picked by members of the media. Often times, the respect of one's peers is more valuable than outside recognition.
