I don't like the coach of Grizzlies. He makes terrible rotations. They will not be a champion under him.
Then there is also size issue. They get big athletic young players. That's fine...but as they grow 3 years and older, speed gets slower and that's how you see slimmer guys like Poole, Curry, Wiggins blow by them easily in their series. Less weightlifting and more marathon guys (lookin' at you Brooks, Bane, Brody, and sophomore Lofton Jr.).
Heat is partly successful because of conditioning where they keep a tab of one's bodyfat. You can see how mobile and quick the players are. If they add a 7 footer to add to their rotation to play alongside Adebayo, that could get them a championship.
The Grizz have a culture. And it seems to be taunting and motivating the other team. I think that is part of bad coaching. It might mean easy wins during the regular season against lottery teams that cannot compete with them. But when you get to the playoffs and play teams as good or better. You don't need to give them extra motivation.
Yeah nobody lost any sleep when the Grizz got whacked in the first round by the Lakers. Lebron probably sent Brooks some custom fishing poles for them to enjoy their vacation.

You're right They play bully ball but can't back it up against highest tier competition.

Let's see if Brooks will whack Wembanyama like he did Payton Jr when Canada faces France in World Cup group games.

I don't follow the draft I like used too, but is there any buzz that the "Jock Landale" type is in demand? Considering both conferences have an MVP level center, there should be a need to have more bigs on your roster to bang with those guys. I think it is safe to say that these two have broken "small ball" as the only way to go......meaning Jokic and Joel aren't subbing out just because the other team puts in a 6'8'' stretch guy to play center, they are just going to go to work on him.
This comes about a month after Brooks was listed as one of 14 players who made a three-year commitment to represent his native Canada between now and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The team’s training camp, which began June 27, was headlined by NBA players Jamal Murray, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, RJ Barrett, and a mix of other NBA players and athletes.
