I know, its only 4 games into his career, but he is averaging more turnovers than assists, shoots 33% fg, 5% 3 pt, 8 ppg, 4 apg. 30 minutes per game.

He was going to be the 1st overall pick if not for Victor, and the hornets didnt get him so he went #3. Portland could have traded him plus future picks for 2 all stars if they wanted to when his stock was still high, since draft boards had him at #2. They could have had a big 3 with dame.

This might be really bad for portland if he turns out to be a bust and lost dame. They chose promised future over proven loyalty. If he continues to play like this, he doesn't have the pg skills to be a pg (3 pt shooting, passing) , doesnt have the size or 3 point shooting to be a sg.

I can't find the article but you are on to something. The article mentioned that G-league unite is supposed to be a proving ground to prepare high school or college prospects to the pro game. If Scoot is an example then the G-league unite has failed in that regard. They brought up Dyson Daniels and Beauchamp as other examples as well. Even G-league unite's record isn't stellar during their season.

Michael Jordan made Charlotte's draft selection before selling the team, and he chose WISELY.
Brandon Miller 17.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, .474 field, .438 threes, 1.3 turnovers!

Why cant he sell the team now, or choose wisely during his time as owner. Im sure he can sell the team for much more now, or have sold it for more choosing scoot and selling it before scoot played a nba game.

They had lamelo, so they didnt need scoot, but they could have traded lemelo or scoot for all stars.

Brandon Miller is doing much better than Scoot. Think the Hornets made a wise choice.

Yep. it's almost never a good idea to have two ball dominant guards on the same team (a lesson the Clippers are about to learn very soon with Harden AND Westbrook now on the same team). Hornets already have Lamelo so no need for Scoot.

I watched a 5 min stretch of Scoot playing the other night. He looked pretty good during that brief window. I had no idea what his numbers were. I think Miller was the #1 recruit at the time of the murder investigation. The talent was there but I am sure teams were worried about who he was hanging around and if he was going to be another Ja. And we still don't know. If he was not a star basketball player and just an average joe would have been charged?

Regardless 3 or so games in. Too early to proclaim anything. Some players get comfortable faster than others. Look at Wemba. He is averaging 5 turnovers a game in just 27 minutes a game. Holgren's stats are overall much better so far. But its 3 games.

Ja is a poser, hanging with the wrong crowd. Jarvis crittenton is more of a thug. Brandon is hanging with the wrong crowd, but his actions as a driver and a weapon holder, it depends on who he is. But if he has a good career he better make new friends.

Back to scoot. If ue plays 20 games and his numbers are similar, its a very big red flag. This could be as huge as getting oden over durant, bowie over jordan (in terms of taking scoot over Dame)

Yes there are examples like Oden or Bennett from UNLV. Usually its the bigs that might look good in college but it does not translate to the NBA. Look Drew Timme can't get a spot in the NBA. And Edey. Like Timme might as well get his degree and learn some foreign languages. Bigs than can't guard the parameter and have limited range won't do well in the NBA now. With Scoot compared to Miller. Scoot is starting and playing against top level NBA players. Miller is coming off the bench. Scoot is playing better talent than Miller. You have to factor that in. I think it was a mistake to start Scoot right away. They have Brogden. I am not sure Billups knows what he is doing in Portland.

Scoots 3 point percentage in the g league was 27.5%. That translates to maybe 22% in the nba. He is still young, but if his 3 point % hovers around 30% in the nba in his prime, he will be a bust. You must be able to shoot at that size to be a starter.
