OK, from everything i can read i should not look at anything north of Florida Blvd. I found some condos on Florida Blvd in Denham Springs.
They sound like they are somewhat new. Would this area be ok? All i am
looking for is somewhere where my posessions are safe while i am work. Thanks for any advice on this

The "north of Florida Blvd" applies to East Baton Rouge Parish pretty much all the way to the Livingston Parish line. As to Florida Blvd in Denham (which is in Livingston Parish), you're probably OK, with two caveats: (1) there is an area behind Fla Blvd and Range (SE corner) which is the bad part of Denham Springs, so keep an eye on that with regards to where your condo is, and (2) if you're too close to the Amite, you run the risk of flooding - when it rains heavily (which is a fact of life here in BR), the water runs off to the Comite, which flows into the Amite, and you'll have some river cresting occurring near those rivers (there are others that flood as well, but the Comite/Amite are the ones which get a lot of press)

Good info. BRMan. Denham Springs for the most part, is a safe area. Traffic however, is a whole different issue. Traveling Florida Blvd. to Baton Rouge is better than interstate travel most of the time.

Yes, thanks for mentioning. The I-12 commute is AWFUL and always seems to be complicated by some 18 wheeler who hit a Suburban. And they're also trying to widen I-12 from O'Neal Lane to Denham, so I expect the road work to make things worse - one thing to keep in mind is there are THREE ways to get from Livingston and East Baton Rouge Parishes - Florida Blvd and I-12 are two of those three......
