Just back from a hike. The forest is beautiful all white again. The roads a freaking slick though. Roundabouts plus snow makes no sense to me.

It definitely was strange to me at first too. This is my 6th winter here & now I don't really question it.

I don't know, I seem to recall a few heavy rains each & every winter.

Must have been a pretty good rain! I see Bachelor has gotten about 44" in the last week? My neighbor in TRS told me we got 17" on Saturday! Love the snow!

A few more snows like this can turn a season around fast.

We definitely got a good snowstorm out of this. However, the forecast for the mountain isn't looking great this week. NOAA National Weather Service

The forecast is great if you are into road bikes. Horrible if you like snow and even worse for summer forest fires.

It's definitely freezing fog. Much worse in the old mill area than where I live right off Newport. Looks like it has snowed over here practically.

For the record, this is (about) the first day with freezing fog/inversion all year even with these extremely persistent high pressures.

Yup, exactly. Definitely freezing fog in town, keeping it cold compared with the mid 50° days we've been having lately. However, it's sunny and clear up on Mt. Bachelor. It's a perfect day for those enjoying the little snow they have.

The groomers are in very good shape. But with the exception of Cows Face the off piste riding is nearly all buried under about an inch of solid ice!
