OP, it sounds like your skills are very needed in Ka'u, and if you enjoy living in a beautiful rural community, then please give lots of consideration to the job. I live in Discovery Harbour, near Na'alehu, and love it here. We have a very strong community with locals and transplants working (and playing) together and there is lots going on. You could find very nice housing right now in our community as well as Na'alehu and Pahala. Only "con" to living here is the very long drive to Kona or Hilo for shopping. Feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss further.

I have worked with students that received Special Ed services but were also gifted. Special Ed isn't supposed to mean lowered standards/expectations. I know it happens but I've worked with kids that were quite bright and were very successful with the right supports in place. I'm also aware that's rare.

Dreaming, I will send you a DM. I was not aware of opportunities in that area.

Hawaii needs you!! Striving for the best possible from each student is something that Hawaii needs to work on ... it sounds as if you could be a real help here.

I'm glad you think so. Maybe someone else will think so and give me a contract.
