Definitely...since the beginning of this decade, it's been developments popping up what seem like every week or two. If I had to guess, well over $1B has been invested within city limits since 2010. This next decade is going to be so much more of things that are in the pipeline...

"Protective" is a hilarious name for a stadium! It sounds like a jock strap brand! LOL

What team is going to play in it?

Protective Life, a company based in birmingham, is giving $15M for naming rights, hence the name Protective. You must be new to stadiums/arena names around this country. Google the name of some NBA arenas...

LOL.....

LOL no thank you, I don't watch basketball ...

I do know names like Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Atlanta Stadium (now gone, sadly). Jorden-Hare, Bryant-Denny, all respectable names ... and I always assumed the Polo Grounds had actually housed polo matches, pre-Giants.

But Protective -- and I do know the company -- is just hilarious.

Although ... recalling former events at Lawson Field ... maybe it is a good name after all.

Louisville alone is home to both the KFC Yum! Center (basketball) and Papa John's Cardinal Stadium (football). Comparatively, I don't think Protective Stadium is that bad....

Dude, if you think Protective is bad (It's pretty innocuous, actually), then you just aren't paying attention. You're just looking for something to snipe about.

Here are a few names that are actually ridiculous. Enjoy:

Smoothie King Center, New Orleans Pelicans
Guaranteed Rate Field, Chicago White Sox
KFC Yum! Center, Louisville Cardinals
Talking Stick Arena, Phoenix Suns
University of Phoenix Stadium, Phoenix
Dick's Sporting Goods Park, Denver
Little Caesars Arena, Detroit
