Watching the closing ceremony right now, and the city looks absolutely amazing! This could possibly do for Birmingham what the 96 Olympics did for Atlanta. Just on a smaller scale. The city really did a great job!

What a great time. I think everything went very well. The city proved it could handle a major event and passed the test.

I had the Games streaming at home when I wasn't attending in person. The broadcasts were very professional (maybe because the announcers were always British or Australian? Haha..)

Awesome event and Birmingham had a great showing. No major issues, crowds were great, and Birmingham proved it could successfully host a large, multi-day event.

While we experienced some positive economic impact, the biggest win is improving Birmingham's image on a big stage. Lots of international visitors that had a great time and good international publicity from TV/streaming coverage. Should also help with the continued improvement on our own self-image and hopefully breed further regional cooperation.

Most powerful moment for me was Taylor Hicks when he sang these words, "This is what we dream about, but the only question with me now, is do I make you proud! Stronger than I've ever been now, never been afraid of standing out, but do I make you proud " I'm definitely proud of my city, the Magic City!
