Thanks for the recommendation. I am looking for a good book about the Chinese Cultural Revolution that is not as dense and scholarly as The World Turned Upside Down. I confess I found that book to be so boring that I did not finish it, although I am interested in learning more about the Revolution.
The surprising science of WOMEN, HORMONES, and the LAW of unintended consequences
An eye-opening book that reveals crucial information every woman taking hormonal birth control should know.
“Three decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union, we are
witnessing in this country an astonishing revival of the Marxist
totalitarian mindset, and it is taking over our institutions. Raised by
Communists, David Horowitz understands this tyrannical worldview
better than anyone, and his new book The Radical Mind is a
harrowing journey through the corridors of the twenty-first century
totalitarianism that goes by the name of progressivism. Must reading!”

Dr Bassam Tibi's Islamism and Islam is splendid and a must read for those seeking understanding:
Quote:
Islamists speak of a united umma but in reality dig deep trenches and arouse strong and dangerous passions. Living in Germany and having survived attempts on my life by jihadists (as well as by neo-Nazis), I know these passions from up close. Yet as a devout Muslim, raised in Damascus as the son of an ashraf family (Muslim nobility), I declare myself immune to the charge of Islamophobia. Hating Islam would require me to renounce myself, my family, my faith, and my heritage. I write not to denigrate these things but in part to defend them.
I write also as a political scientist who has devoted his career to the study of Islam.
I just finished Betrayal/Life and Lies of Bernie Madoff by Andrew Kirtzman.
No sympathy for any of those super rich clients of his, not happy with earning 7% on their millions, they gambled on 15-20% earnings with Bernie. Many of the clients were Jewish and the Jews thought: A Jew would never "jew" out another Jew!
You would think, in this modern age, someone running a Ponzi Scheme would have been discovered much sooner. Not so!
I should have used the word conned or stole. Actually, traditionally, when using the word to jew someone, is to get the cheapest price. So the word wasn't apropos at all.
