I have only read one book of hers so far..The Cove. I got a lot of 9 books from Ebay and thought I'd try her out.

I really can't make up my mind. It's as if she's almost too polite in her writing saying words like 'goodness' and such. I don't know...I'm having a hard time getting into the books. Also, such far fetched plots like a whole town of old people luring people into their ice cream store so they can kill them and rob them?

Dunno...I want to like her, especially since I have 8 more books of hers.

I think I like Nora Roberts and Patricia Cornwell better for romantic suspense.

What do you think? Will this writing get better? More credible?

Help!

I've found that most mystery/crime writers who used to write bodice-ripper romances 20 or 30 years ago should have stayed with bodice-ripper romances.

Is that what she used to write? I've really got no idea what her history is. At this point, though, I think I might put these books back on ebay.

Well, I don't always agree with here political views, but she sure looks sexy in that little black dress, and I lover her long blonde hair and tight little bod. I'd definately hit it....
Oh....wait a sec...I'm thinking about Ann Coulter!
Never mind!

I have ben trying to read The Cove for like 3 months. I'm determined to finish it, but it's a boring. I'm having such a hard time getting into it. I pick it up read a few pages then move on to another book. Guess I'll finish it eventually.

I thought her older books were a lot better... a couple of her FBI character ones were ok, but I have to admit that her writing style (or my reading style) has evolved over the past couple years, and I haven't bought or read one of her books in a couple years. Her dialogue, you're right, started putting me off, among other things.

... writers of the similar style (I guess you'd call them romantic suspense?) that I enjoy a lot more are Elizabeth Lowell, Nora Roberts and Linda Howard.

I was a HUGE fan of hers years ago when she was writing bodice ripper books and I was into that gothic romance stuff. But then she changed her writing format and I didn't like it.
