The commute from Brighton, MA to Franklin, MA. (Boston, Worcester: how much, house)

I am thinking about moving to Brighton, MA, but I work in Franklin, MA. Google maps tell me I will be taking 90 W to 495 S and is about 39 miles.
Now I have asked a few people and have gotten different reactions, 1 being that its easy and I will average 45 minutes since I am going away from the city, the other being that its a horrible commute and I will be average 1 hour.
Can anyone who knows this route in the morning give me any insight? I will be leaving my house typically at 7 AM, so I am not sure how much difference this makes in terms of traffic on the road.
Also, does the claim of going away from the city make a difference?
reverse commutes are becoming a thing of the past. Where cities (Boston, Worcester, Providence) were the only business centers, you will now find them in Marlborough, Mansfield, Franklin, etc. They all contribute to the excessive traffic on 495-S. Now add all the New York City traffic leaving Boston, New Hampshire, Maine, etc using 495-S to 290 then you can get tremendous backup. Remember to be in the left lane on 495 before you near 290. Otherwise you will get stuck in the limited access to 290 from 495. I would say closer to an hour is more likely, add 30 minutes in snow!

How on earth would someone be on 290 commuting from Brighton to Franklin? I'd probably do Pike West to 495 South. You could do 128 South to 95 South to 495 North.
It's true that there are more jobs (and thus more traffic) in the suburbs these days, but it still makes a big difference going away from the city. The Pike is very slow toward Boston in the AM, not bad at all going west.
If you leave early 7ish, you'll be fine. You'll fly and watch everyone on the pike East stopped the Pike/495 interchange gets a little screwy heading back in the afternoon, but then it clears up.
