Hi!

My name is Francesco, I'm 23 and I live in Brescia, in the Northern Italy.

Our project (mine an my parents') is relocating in USA in the next years. We have contacts in Texas, California and in Massacchusets who could help us with the immigration lawyers and we hope to leave Italy in some years.

I'm posting here cause I'd like to understand if MA and the Boston Area could be a good place for us, concerning jobs, cost of living (I know that Boston is not so cheap... but consider that I live in one of the most expensive area in Europe and that our taxes here reach 60% of salary) and so on...

About the job... I'm going to take a Master of Science in electronics engineer and my dad has a degree in computer science, working as a consultant in industrial automation.

If you need more detailed infos, just ask.

First thing I would do is find out where the jobs will be. Move to the city that has the most companies in your fields.

edit: you didn't mention which cities in Cali and Texas. But most big cities in both states would probably work for you.

edit#2: after I thought about it, California might not be the best idea. It's having a severe unemployment problem right now. Lots of Texas cities still seem to be booming.

The Boston Area would be a good fit for the industries you mentioned. Cost of living is high compared to other parts of the nation but doable if you have a good job.

Come to Boston. We have the North End in Boston with the best italian food and we have Federal Hill in Providence. You will be right at home :-) ....but start your job search first and see what jobs are here for you.
