I was just looking at diff Boston pix and vids and is it just me or the skyline seems like it's lacking a distinctive skyscraper or two? The city looks beautiful though with it's unique architecture. That's why I like East coast cities more, they got that old style European feel.

I think most people would agree with you. One reason for this is the FAA has height restrictions on towers downtown due to the proximity to Logan. 550 ft, and even lower in the Seaport I believe.

Most major cities built their first airports right near downtown. In almost every case, new airports were eventually built farther from the city and the original airports were built over or became secondary airports. Boston could expand easily by backfilling the bay more so they never did this. When building heats up again, skyscrapers will be built down the spine of the turnpike farther west, in some cases capping the turnpike itself.

Boston is a great more compact cleaner alternative to NY, with less traffic and less ghettos, but with lots of culture and nightlife. The Russians are everywhere, but especially in Newton, Brookline, Swampscott and Marblehead.
