I noticed in the city with both MBTA buses and school buses there are SOO many bus stops. The bus seems to stop like every 3 minutes which is ridiculous. I live in a suburb now and it's the same thing with the school buses. It's true there are no sidewalks on many streets where I am but kids over 7 or so should be able to walk a short distance to a bus stop. In my small neighborhood there are 3 different stops and kids are often driven to the bus stop. I have no idea if it's a safety issue, a lazy issue or a too busy issue to be worried about kids walking to bus stops

I wonder if people from big cities like nyc and La have a different expectation of Boston than others who say they love it
I know at least one guy from NYC who krraps on pretty much *every* other city - e.g. calls Philly "Philth-adelphia", etc. Sometimes criticism can be as much about the source as it is about the target.

Kindergarteners have to be dropped off at their own house.

Maybe they should just have a parent drive them then. I assume when they are picked up and dropped off someone is home but who knows these days.

Yeah is that a new state law or something? Not something I never remember before. Parents can't walk or drive their kids down to the stop?

Ive never heard of this is a law or rule but it wouldn't surprise me. In my town the stop is at the end of the st. My kids never got dropped off right outside our house. I think you can request it here. It all seems like it must be more expensive and time consuming. It's also some exercise and fresh air to walk a bit

Why? Because you're inconvenienced for 38 seconds a handful of times each year?

Think about all the fuel wasted and excess emissions, not only from the bus itself but the chain reaction of vehicles sharing the road (as well as oncoming traffic). It's not insignificant. In what world can't school kids walk a block or two to the bus stop?

Kindergarteners are like 4 or 5 years old. Kids that age shouldn't be walking alone on the street.

From what I understand, the bus driver will wait and watch until the kid is inside. And that's how it should be.

I'm tired of all of these petty and SELFISH complaints.
