Thank you for your responses. I will look into all of those options. I had not considered a roommate because I do not know anyone in the area. I will definitely look into it. Thanks again!

Check with the BU housing office -- and maybe call the law school and business school, too. They might have lists of incoming students who are seeking roommates.

I have a relative coming to BU for grad school as well. Looking on Craigslist is the best bet - she found a few roommate options as of today. There are FB sites for BU students seeking roommates as well.

Everyone uses craigslist. It's not as shady in Boston as I guess it is other places. Everyone in my apartment met through craigslist and we just filled an open room through craigslist. In my opinion, it's not worth paying the huge costs to live alone. A one bedroom for under 1500 is typically not very nice. That rent is not paying for good home amenities, it's paying for being alone and in the city. That's it. Especially near BU.
