Well yes. Boston is on pace to have its fewest murders in generations. As of right now, 13 people have been murdered, which puts the city on pace for 26.

Sure, every murder is bad. Every stabbing is bad. Every crime is bad.

But you have to see that statistically, the city is in a better place than most major American cities.
Calling NYC one of the safest cities is kind of weird.

NYC has a huge population over a large land area. It is more like its own metro than a typical US city. There are areas of NYC that are large and populous enough to be a good sized US city, and if so would have severe crime.

So saying NYC has moderate crime is really kinds of meaningless. Yes, the good areas. The bad areas are among the nation's worst for violent crime and property crime.

I get it - you can say that about any city. But with 8 million people in 300 square miles, there are "cities" within the city that are dangerous and high crime. Trying to discuss this huge populous "city" as one entity is kind of meaningless.

But this is not true at all, whatsoever. Like... not even kind of true.

You do realize this happened in Boston- Boston lost 27,000 people many of whom are wealthy people who moved to the Cape and Nantucket. Hence the population growth and explosive home values on the Cape. One of my coworkers (superior) moved down here to Baltimore when we went remote in Boston.

We dont know who did or did not return.

Exactly so the same thing is happening in nyc. The people left behind are the poor ones with mental issues or assh@les wreaking havoc on the city.

I saw many nyc plates when I was in Nantucket recently and on the cape. I remember the people of Nantucket, mv and the cape were accusing the nyc folks of bringing covid with them.

Do a google search. There’s a lot of articles on someone bringing a machete to a house party. Why are you questioning me on this ?

I did a google search I saw nothing from the citys paper of record (the Globe) or the Herals. Only from the police website live 617, mass live and Boston 25. So naw.. it wasn't all over the news.
