He did so in a pretty non-committal way. Almost like he was fishing for a “may be nasty but that’s just the way it is!” -type answer.

WTF-ever bro.

BTW: Intelligent open-minded people are often "non-committal" in subjective areas. Leaves room for open exchange of thoughts, as well as the possibility that someone just MIGHT not own absolute truth on the matter.

Perhaps non-committal wasn’t the right word. Perhaps “insincere” is what I was looking for. The poster knew they were being nasty and insensitive and wanted others to forgive them for it or otherwise validate them.

The poster was communicating an observation about crime on the Orange Line and probably knew some virtue-signalling (usually white) clown would cast aspersions on his motive. Not because they know anything about him or his "sincerity", but because he dared to ask a question that some people would attempt to connect to race. Those making the assumptions about race are more likely to be the true racists here.

The red line can be nasty, orange line can be nastier.

Boston has major underlying issues regarding:
  • Crime on the T
  • Crime downtown
  • Declining academic performance on the NAEP
  • Declining rates of kids going to college (statewide)
  • Declining enrollment in public schools and community colleges
  • Declining housing production
  • High office vacancy
  • Declining bus service in # of busses and drivers
  • Declining subway ridership and frequency
  • Unaffordable rents
  • Unaffordable home prices
  • Rising school violence
  • Displacement

The state doesn't care, luckily Wu does.

Back in the day I would have agreed, but truthfully the entire T is sketchy these days and there's constantly stuff happening on the Orange, Red and Green lines. Not sure about the Blue.

This is sad, a 13 year old boy shot:

https://www.wcvb.com/article/mattapa...geted/42710321

Apparently he was targeted. Who would target a 13 year old kid? Some type of gang initiation? ugh. Why wasn't he just at home sitting on his ipad like all the other 13 year olds?
