Mayor gets 2X that of cops (and 4X that of a councilperson). And if you ask me, the Boston City Council should become part time (based on what they're putting out these days) but let's not start getting too logical here.
Yup

As I said earlier, make it part-time (or give it minimal pay) and only people that don't need to work will be the ones managing the city.

It's OK, the rest of us saw it and you honestly don't look so hot at the moment.

As a taxpayer, how do I lose? If the current lot actually had something to show for themselves then we can start talking, but they have yet to convince me otherwise.

Do I have to explain you what is it that you loose if the only the rich ones run for office?

Versus what we have in place at the moment (rich or non-rich)? Yes, you do.

When you hire your average cop your competition aren't high paying private firms.
You're confusing our progressive word salad generator with a city manager - she along with the councilcritters are equivalents of a marketing intern, not a CEO.

To get a really good sense of what the BCC spends its time on, just watch their hearings. Countless hours discussing and voting on resolutions about issues around the country and often overseas that have no direct connection to the City of Boston. Pretense at its best.
