It’s tough to lose long time neighborhood places, but Christophers was always mediocre IMO.

So Sweet Tooth on West Broadway in South Boston closed? When?!

I checked their hours via Google and it's permanently closed.

I liked that place. It would close on Sundays and Monday, I think.

Better than the average bakery. Was it there at least 10-15 years?

It had those distinctive pink boxes with the grey ribbons.

It was there for a while. Small indie bakeries in Boston are disappearing fast.

Yes, Cafe Madeleine in the South End as well as noted here recently.

I recall O'Brien's Bakery on Beale Street in Wollaston in Quincy when I moved here in 2004. Not fancy or yuppie, but independent, but it closed/moved a few years after to another part of Quincy -- but I think it has closed permanently.

Long live Tatte bakery on every corner...I guess. I am not mocking it, and would welcome it in Quincy, but it's everywhere now, even D.C. We need variety. It took over for Cafe Vanille on Beacon Hill which had a few shops in the region -- but I believe now all are closed.

At least Ginger Betty's gingerbread store still survives independently in Quincy after several years. And a mom and pop macaron store, Miam Miam, with other baked goods and homemade chocolates is in Quincy Center, open five days a week. Made in store.

At least Tatte is still owned and managed by locals.

I wonder how long it will be until we start seeing Flour break outside of Boston/Cambridge and start going the way of Tatte.

Please, Flour, please, please come to Quincy! More and more young professionals here now.

But I have been to most of their locations over the years, and as with any good thing, too much can lead to malaise or indifference until taking a break for awhile.

Maybe the Cape or Metrowest, or Burlington, MA? But I think they need to have all the stores within reasonable distance, as maybe their production facility necessitates that for quality control and such?

They used to bake their cookies at some or all stores, but I was told by the Clarendon store last year that cookies are made at the production facility now. Not sure if that was done solely for the pandemic.

Heck, I used to enjoy lucking out at a couple of their stores whenever I got fresh, warm cookies made there.

Good to see the administration finally going after those big time tax cheats. Those damn servers probably steal billions! This ought to help the restaurants.
