Although you would think that after her dog apparently ate marijuana several times, she would be more cognizant about what the dog is ingesting while walking it in that corridor.

Right so it's the human sucking lol. I've had my dog quickly eat things in the past...

As the owner of the pup, and a volunteer on the park, I’m well aware of the danger to dogs & kids.. I’m not sure how anyone would have been able to acknowledge an opioid spilled on the ground, or spot a roach in the grass… btw, some idiot discarded. Puppies explore & sniff, especially beagles. Take a walk in the park & see that your comment is ill informed.

Appreciate your comment and your point is well taken. It's easy to criticize after the fact. But after several times of ingesting drugs in that park I would have either walked my dog elsewhere or been actively monitoring everything the puppy went near while there. That said, I'm sorry that happened to the puppy. And yes, I've been through there numerous times. It's not a paradise.

My dog doesn't eat things off the ground but I know beagles are different. He's very cute, btw. Glad he's doing well.

One of the most valuable commands you can teach a dog is "Leave It".

Drugs cost money right? Why is a bag of drugs, worth a lot of money I assume, lying on the ground?

dropped, discarded, thrown away to avoid being caught with it by law enforcement.
theft robbery fight where things are dropped and then people flee to avoid getting caught stabbed shot beaten.
people who use drugs and deal drugs are not in their right mind so they do dangerous irrational things.
don't expect them to act and behave rationally. their mental state is impaired.
