Need to find something cool to do with the kids on Black Friday in Boston or surrounding areas. Kids range in age of 9 and younger. Thanks

Aquarium, Museum of Science?

How old are the kids? the Skywalk on the 50th floor of the Prudential Building ( Skywalk Observatory - The Shops at Prudential Center ) offers great and unique views of the city. There are audio tours and activities at the top appropriate for all ages. The best part (or worse depending on what you're black friday plans are) is that the entire base of the tower is the Prudential Center mall so you can do shopping and lunch at Legal Seafoods, Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, or the California Pizza Kitchen (or the foodcourt if you want). Parking is also pretty easy there and if you're taking the train, it's the Prudential stop on the E Branch of the Greenline.

If they're a little bit older, the mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Museum at the Christian Science plaza (right next to Prudential) can be fun. I'd certainly only recommend it if the youngest child was in late middle school or high school as it's more of a grown up attraction and they may get bored. Here's a link to see for yourself anyway: The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity - Mapparium

Also, weather permitting, you can do a Fenway Park tour which is always fun. Info: Fenway Park Tours | redsox.com: Ballpark

A cheapo that kids enjoy is feeding the squirrels on the Boston Common. Bring some peanuts, and they'll eat right out of your hands.

Finally, if they're into sports I'm pretty sure there's an early afternoon Bruins game (cheapest pro sports ticket in town). Boston Bruins - The Official Web Site

have fun!

Thanks, will check into the skywalk observatory, depends on thr traffic with shopping. The kids are pretty young-2, 5 ,7 and 9. It doesn't take much to make them happy, just looking for a unique cheap way to see something they would remember.

I agree that The Frog Pond on Boston Common would be a great outing for that age group.

I will be in Boston for one day (August 5th) with my spouse and 8 yo and 6 yo before we visit some sleepaway camps in Maine for the week.

Any recs on where to stay and what to do for a very short stay? The hotel recs that I have are Langham Boston, Taj Boston, Four Seasons Boston, and Boston Harbor Hotel. We will have a car, but prefer to walk/stay close to hotel.

Those are some expensive hotel recommendations!

At any rate, I would suggest staying near Copley Square, visit the Swan Boats at the Boston Public Garden and take the Duck Tour from the Prudential Center.
