But I hear it's worse further east in the Weld County side of Erie.

I would definitely check out the health concerns from fracking and drilling, in choosing where you go.

Default Current Erie information?

So I've read through quite a few threads on Erie, but some of them were a couple years old and I know that area has seen a lot of growth recently. Would someone mind giving me some information on family-friendly neighborhoods, shopping, recreation, etc.? I saw Erie referred to as "self-contained" in one thread... Is this generally true? Given the proximity, we would definitely be fine driving to Boulder or even Denver for specific things, but can you pretty much get by day-to-day without having to go to different cities? Thanks in advance!

It's of interest, but other than saying there was a fracking site in Erie, that article (from 10 months ago) didn't really contain any information about whether or not it was confirmed that there was pollution due to the fracking .. I found a piece by the acting mayor from August that addresses fracking pollution concerns. Apparently all the air and water testing came back normal and new policies have been implemented to prevent future contamination. Thanks for the heads-up, but maybe next time refer to an article that contains some data?

Default Erie- up and coming?

I have heard from several people that Erie is a thriving community, with a high concentration of young professionals, and that they anticipate a lot of growth, both of the housing market and otherwise. I have also heard there has been new leadership in the schools and that this change, combined with the influx of children from educated parents, will result in the Erie school system becoming one of the best in the area. Any thoughts?
