60-40 wold be a better split.. 60 for manny and 40 for mayweather... Mayweather may demand a better deal if he is the current pound for pound king.. And maybe just maybe..the result in his upcoming fight with marquez would be a big factor..if there is a boxer that could outwit manny that would be marquez..

How would 60-40 for Manny be a better split? Mayweather is clearly the bigger financial draw from past pay-per-view numbers; add to that the only reason that Manny is even considered the best pound-for-pound fighter is because Mayweather retired. 60-40 in Mayweather's favor could probably work, though.

Mayweather wasn't a huge PPV draw until he fought De La Hoya. It's been his opponents who have helped to sell his fights...DLH, Hatton, Gatti, etc. Most fans bought the fights for the match-up, not just for Floyd. He doesn't have the fanbase of those other fighters even though he's a better boxer, he's not that enjoyable to watch. Manny can sell fights without Floyd. After the Marquez fight, Floyd will have to step up and fight the best of the best, and possibly on their terms, not his. He won't have the same leverage to demand a bigger cut of the purse because he'll be facing fighters who are legitimate threats and can demand an equal cut.
