No such thing as a "Canadian".

Folks who live in Toronto generally are a bit different from those in Vancouver, and Montreal residents tend to be significantly different than both in terms of perspective and interest.

From what I understand the Calgary folks tend to be a bit more conservative than the folks on either coast.

By that logic, there's no such thing as an "American"

Folks in San Francisco tend to be a bit different than folks from Dallas. Most southerners are significantly different than a good deal of the rest of the country; politically, ideologically, culturally, perspective and interest.

Crazy Man, cRaZzzy! Just look at Survivor Man! If they're not knocking each other's teeth out with hockey sticks they are wrestling bears in the wild.

Ok, realistically, except for a mild accent Canadians are almost Americans anyway. I mean they are right across the border and even below Sarah Palin and Denali the Great One. On top of that CA especially has so many foreigners that Canandians will seem more American than most other other ppl here, some even born in the good ole US of A. LOL... Plus many Americans have family and friends up in the Great White North.

And what's more American than William Shatner - Captain Kirk or Neil Young - Heart of Gold, Diana Krall - Jazz extrodinaire, etc... Canandians have shared some of their best with us since it all began. And America embraced them. Well, most of the time anyway with the exception of folks like Jim Carey.

In many ways this can be true. However, in Canada they basically have four population centers, with large and empty expanses between the areas. This makes a bit of a difference in how much each has in common, they lack the transition areas we have in the much higher populated US.

You realize that California may have a greater population than all of Canada (last estimate I saw was pretty close).
