IMO the super set is (To stupid and selfish) ... Among liberals/conservatives, this is the common group that is leading to California's ruin and America's ruin. Too many morons yapping their gums and the intelligent people being drowned out ... Too many false leaders riding on propaganda and too many sheep eating it up...

Every self-serving fiefdom, every self-serving cartel and every self-serving constituency (a.k.a. special interest) claims that its pathetically obvious self-serving lobbying "serves the national interest."

That is the problem ... The moronic confirmation bias that only stupidity exists in the political party that I am not a part of .. So yeah.. there is an elephant in the room... A large collective massive body of morons who don't see they are tied to and bound at the hip to other morons like themselves ...

Someone speaks with sense and the collective group of morons yell and crowd them out ...
Govt. is an extension of the people it represents..

Too conservative.. Too liberal.. democrats/republicans .. These are the labels/divisions that are created by those screwing over America the hardest in order to divide and conquer.. and by all means, like lemmings and minions, the vast majority of Americans are accelerating this concept...

All one needs to do for a great example is take a look at the debt debacle we are currently suffering through a la government...

If you for a minute believe either side (democrat/republican) is more in the right, then you are a part of the problem.. You are a part of the large mass that forms the elephant in the room.

Both sides are acting like illogical idiots .. No leadership.. No vision.. and neither is pursuing what's right for this country... the problem is that such f*** tards keep getting elected by equal f*** tards in this country... So, if you want to start looking for an elephant in the room.. In my opinion, start by looking in the mirror
Wow a little grouchy today. Not your usual cheerful upbeat self. LMFAO!!!!

By all means carry on!

We aren't funding any infrastructure at all. I hit HUGE potholes daily. Everyone needs and benefits from public infrastructure: roads, schools, transit, public hospitals.

It is a big misconception that we are driving the wealthy people out. They are still here and they want to stay. If Bill Gates complains he is under-taxed, you know something is wrong.

I am happy to support public services, if my money actually goes to fund the stuff they said they were going to. Right now, CA isn't keeping up its end of the bargain and providing for residents.

One thing I hate is all of the "conservatives" saying "public services are horrible, only users and losers take advantage of them" and they are the first ones to use Medicare, Medical, and Social Security benefits. These are all social programs, and many types of people take advantage of them: poor, elderly, disabled, temporarily out of work, or people in transition, etc.
There are certainly rich hangers on who revel in the climate (both natural and cultural). What I find is, old money and people way up the corporate hierarchy stay. The entrepreneurial class and small business people go.

Also, corporations large and small are adding most of their new mid income jobs out of state. I know this because ... I actually do this deed and have been doing it now for years.

BTW I am more of a libertarian than a so called conservative, but of course Fabian Socialists love to smear everyone who is not on their page as "conservatives" or worse.

I guess I need someone to define what corporate welfare is. Is it any tax break a business receives for things you don't support? Any tax breaks period? While some large companies are quite adept at lobbying government for questionable tax breaks (under GOP and Dem administrations), many corporate tax breaks have (or had) a good reason. If a company gets a tax break for investing in green energy is that corporate welfare? What about a break to hire disabled employees? What about a break a company got because they opened a facility in an economically depressed area? What about a break to lure the opening of a factory that will employ 4000 people in the community?

I wonder if people hear about some of the high profile cases in the news (GE being the most recent) and assume that is the case across the board.

Not grouchy .. just keeping it real... I do that sometimes. It's obvious when I do how many are still stuck in the dream state, are one of the ignorant people i call out on and are too blinded by it to realize it, and are happy w/ it.. It further reinforces my position that people are getting just what they deserve and there's no reason to care about them.

So, carry on wondering why x is x ..
Those who know why it is will just keep exploiting the broad ignorance of the reasons for their personal gain... as it is clear there is no fruit in trying to inform/educate/and help.. It's a self-reinforcing trend in this way..

Such is life.. I recall historically it has always been this way.
No reason to believe suddenly the populous will become enlightened.
Path of least resistance works great for the majority.. Always has been and will ...

You show people how they are getting screwed.. A crowd of people mob you .. I think i commented on this in my previous post..
It's quite entertaining. Much easier to exploit them instead.. It's the reason for things being screwed up ...but the feedback loop is already accelerating the trend.. There's no changing it.. until it breaks down....

Perfectly happy playing my role in it all .. Sometimes I just 'keep it real'.. Don't mistake this for actually caring/having some emotional sentiment about the big scheme of things. It's my way of putting something out there, observing the expected response, and further reinforcing/backing my personally chosen role in it all.

People will continue being observers and puppets.. and others will continue pulling the strings. Works out great for me.
I do more than enough in markets to offset the idiocy of the masses .. I found this to be the more fruitful approach.

Tried for many years to inform and change things.. Gave up when i continually got mob'd.

Don't shoot the messenger but I expect that most already will.. It's how you're programmed.

So, please ... Carry on as well.. The prosperity of a few depend on it.

From the tone of your post, it's obvious that you're still bitter about how most people have pointed out your fallacies in the affirmative action policies in the other thread that you were active in just a day ago.

You pass judgement about how people are "blind" and "ignorant" about things, yet it was you that exhibited these exact same behaviors in that thread.

So, whatever man. Go ahead and keep passing judgement on people by calling them ignorant and blind for not agreeing with your point of view.

In some cases, one experiences enough in life and interacts enough to be able to empathize and speak for others and their perspectives. It's obvious that people will try to attack the messenger and not the message. Living life your eyes open.. accepting viewpoints other than yours that are based on actual logic/premise allows one to speak from a standpoint that is no their own.. There is no 'tone' to my post but picking at the harsh reality that underlies why x is x.. if you disagree give your own reasons and define why mine are wrong.. Attack the message.

No fallacies were pointed out in the affirmative action thread that weren't fallacies. All i saw was a bunch of bitter people who have no concept of history/justice/righting wrongs bitching about a program that seeks to give equal opportunity to qualified individuals.. All the while ignoring the historical reason it exists...

I exhibited the behavior of showing the history of this country and how it came to form affirmative action which stems not even a couple of generations from which civil rights were granted to Americans regardless of race. If you don't get that, you're blind and ignorant. I'm sorry.. there is no gray area.

This country victimized a group of people. Stripped them of their culture and identity ... Convinced them they were subhuman.. even made laws suggesting they were.. this didn't change till the 70's.. and probably wasn't enforceable till the late 70s.. we are just 40-50 years off of this change.. People who were victimized by this are still alive.. Their children are just starting families... It will take a couple of generations, programs, and actual efforts by the government who wronged them for that to change...
If you disagree, explain just what logic/premise underlies your view. Please leave the ignorant bitching out of it.

So whatever, keep being ignorant and huddling around conforming views...
That was my message in the first place. I don't wonder who the elephant in the room is .. I think and research it through.. Too conservative? That's ignorant.. Too liberal.. that's ignorant....

Too stupid and selfish .. yeah, seems just about right...
Correct me if I am wrong. I would love for the detractors to do that aside from engage in the personal attacks as usual...

It's you're nature... A nature that makes you feel happy and justified in your b.s (oh that guy is just grouchy.... *ignore all logical points) .. Sorry for pointing that out. i could imagine this doesn't make one feel good.. the same way pointing out someone's racism and ignorance doesn't...

But some would have you believe such ignorance doesn't exist .. nah', not me ..
Something from the way of education/iq levels/idiocy/priorities of people in America across both political spheres and both conservative/liberal groups causes me to believe that ignorance and stupidity does exist and is wide spread. I am sure, no one will score political points by indicating this as the problem in America but it is the problem..

I'm not scared to say it .. I don't depend on any of the idiots to elect me or make a paycheck.. So, I am free to keep it real.
If more people did we would be somewhere.. but more people are buried in ignorance than not.. and thus, in a democracy.. more of our govt. is to.

Not all tax breaks are created equal. Here are some samples that I can't really support:
  • Corn and Soy subsidies
  • Commercial property owners and prop 13
  • Redevelopment Agencies funding parking lot owners
  • Tax breaks for Oil and Utilities companies
  • Employers who divert their health care obligation by enrolling employees in Medicare
  • Tax breaks for companies who move their headquarters off-shore (and receive benefits for employing locals)
I support "corporate welfare" for anything that can quantifiable directly or indirectly support economic or social well-being. Working on the high-profile cases could generate plenty of revenue for the state.

California does not have an income problem, it has a spending problem, as hundreds of previous posts from conservatives and moderates have pointed out. Liberals still do not get it, just tax the "Evil Companies" and the "Rich" and everything is solved. Yeah right, make it worse why dont you. First of all, companies do not pay taxes, their employees, customers, and stockholders do. More taxes and regulations translates to higher prices to consumers, which means fewer sales, which in turn means fewer jobs and lower stock prices, which means loss of assets to stockholders. The state fiscal problems lie in many areas, but the three broad main ones are; (A). Public employee salaries and pensions are out of control and must be curtailed. (B). Illegal immigration costs the state an estimated 10 billion dollars a year. Benefits must be eliminated, card check imposed on hires, and deportation of undesirables such as criminals sharply stepped up. (C). The business climate must be made much more friendly by eliminating anti business regulations, fees, and taxes that have driven hundreds of businesses to flee the state in recent years. Realistically, with leftists with Marxist ideology in almost total control of the destiny of the state, the chances of any of these things coming to pass are very remote, which is why California is in such dire condition.
