Those klymers are showing their true (Red) colors. The NYT have tossed aside all pretense of objectivity and are now swinging hard far Left. I am not kidding about the Red color, they are out beyond Fabian Socialism in their POV.

Yeah, we don't need no stinkin' Engineering or Manufacturing jobs. We only need PR, Marketing, Law, biology PhDs, etc.

Oh, things like Engineering and Manufacturing are still happening here... only now they require an "education" and specialized "skills". As discussed in another thread, I still think we need a different approach to education now, and something more akin to the 2-tiered German model, with separate tracks for college and vocational training (that works in conjunction with what local industry needs). Of course here that idea would be "verbotin", both to the liberal P.C. types who figure everyone can become a doctor or programmer, and to the libertarians & conservatives who fancy everyone can be an "entrepreneur"!

lol, you'd still be getting a 20 or 30 year mortage in TX because your pay would be less, and if you were able to pay off a bunch of a house's price it would be because of all the money you made in (DUN DUN DUN) ...California. Go move already, nobody is holding a gun to your head, those of us who actually live here don't need to constantly hear people like you whining about how great some other state is that none of us care about or want to live in. I'm so sure you could get a great, well-paying job in the glorious job creator paradise of Texas. Is your name andy btw?

Whenever I am hanging out with my friends here in the Bay Area, all we ever talk about is how we wish we could live in Texas, making minimum wage and flipping burgers at a McDonald's in Houston. That would be the life.

Paul Krugman in the New York Slimes? Lets play a little sci-fi and travel back 40 years in a time machine and present a fun analogy. Reading PK in the NYT today would be like reading an article by Soviet Party ideologue and theoretician Mikhail Suslov in a 1971 edition of Pravda.

These boys show what a failure the American Education System has been. Unbelievable, and unbelievable that they believe this utter nonsense.

These folk are the spiritual progeny of those that said Martin Luther King was a Communist and that the "colored people" were completely happy with the way things were before the Communists came down south and got them all riled up.

I can't wait.
You post Krugman's opinion and you think we are going to read it? There are few people in this country who are more biased, more progressive liberal and downright stupid when it comes to economics than Krugman. This is a man who blamed right-wing extremist for the shooting of Congresswoman Gifford's within hours of the shooting and without having a clue who actually did it. This is a man who says Obama didn't do nearly enough deficit spending on stimulus and still thinks Obama should spend trillions more ... even after the S&P downgrade. The guy is a lunatic.
