Which is really no different than using one of those seven words you want to ban.

I seem to remember a story about being the first one to cast a stone...

Yes, kids should be supervised at school and taught that such language is never acceptable at any time for any reason. It's an ugly habit and makes for ugly personalities. I won't deny using modest "sentence enhancers" myself on occasion, but it's very rare and usually just between friends.
So....you can do it, but nobody else should be allowed to?

I never would have been 'shamed' by a kindly old gentleman because MY parents taught me NEVER EVER to use those words around my elders or around adults that weren't my direct family. Still to this day I never curse in public and it's because my parents were awesome and taught me the right and wrong way to use language.

Plus, if you knew kids at all, you'd know that the more you ban them from doing something, the more they're going to want to do it, and they more they're going to do it when you're not around.

Head up my arse, eh? That was perfect. A good example of how a grown man can be so mired in vulgar habits of mind that he can't even help himself in mixed company. Ever wonder where your imagination went?

I've got news for you: members of "these populations" actually inspired me to clean up my act.

Heck, I'd have them read pornography, if they would read.

You want to kill the love of learning? Your stated method will do it as rapidly as NCLB has.
On the contrary, it's better to be completely illiterate than to pollute one's mind and imagination for the sake of "learning".

My stated method works extremely well. I have employed it myself and have the living, breathing evidence to prove it.

I never use any of the seven words anymore, not even as sentence enhancers.

If I did, that might make me a hypocrite, but it wouldn't make it right. See the difference?

I don't like onions, but that's a defect I have succeeded in not passing on to my children.

Sounds like you were raised well in that regard. Kudos to your parents. Unfortunately I was not.

That is demonstrably false and is frankly one of the biggest lies of our time. Of course I know kids. I was a kid myself, have known hundreds of others, and am raising six of my own.

I never implied that made it right. I was simply pointing out that you are guilty of doing, what you are trying to ban. And on that we seem to agree!

I use, rarely, some mild profanity in discreet situations. I might say d***, h***, or sonofa**** among friends, usually when discussing liberals and liberalism. I try not to. Those aren't among Carlin's seven dirty words, are they?

But it's true: even these words should be banned in school. Kids just shouldn't talk that way.

Not the same thing. Smoking pollutes the air, but not the soul.
