Now everyone who is unhappy in California knows they can go improve their life in North Dakota. I endorse it.
Not only are they going to North Dakota they are also going to places such as Texas, North Carolina and many other states where there is an opportunity and a future for them, for the past few years, even before they knew you were endorsing their leaving. That is why the American Citizen migration in and out of California is negative each year, with many more moving out than moving in being replaced by foreign immigrants, a large percentage of them are poor replacing the higher income ones that are leaving.

Life is too short to live on flat ground, or in humid air. Based on the following map, there are only 12 states for an outdoors man, or a woman. Only twos other state has even 10 percent of its land public, North Carolina and Michigan.

Even Vaunted Montana has considerably less public land than California.

There's a reason the West is proponderately owned by the feds. The inhabitants of the many can't be trusted with it. If it could, California would probably pawn it.

Life's too short to live in crowded conditions and really bad air!

Oh, and your pom-poms are beginning to shed. Time for a new pair.

This is true enough. In fact this reality is cited in the linked piece below, describing how Mitt Rmoney has an agenda to get rid of much of the federal owned land in the west ... and one of the prime fears of such action is that the states will do exactly as you suggest: pawn it

It really is and the reason that California income growth rate by second quarter 2012 had fallen to only 1%, far below inflation.

On the other hand, that is why other states are seeing faster personal income growth as wages are increasing such as 11.35% in South Dakota, and 5.68% in Montana. Another place California is at the bottom.

The biggest movement of American Citizens is from Los Angelos, San Francisco and San Jose, as the educated and those with money flee the state. California is becoming known as the place that exports people and jobs.

An extremely important article from LA Times

California demographic shift: More people leaving than moving in - Los Angeles Times

The population growth in California is not caused by people moving into the state, but the high birth rate of the Hispanic population.

As both sides of my family were early settlers in my home state of California, I hate to see what is happening to it, and how it is falling behind. How like myself the people with money and jobs are fleeing the state, turning it over to the poor immigrants.

Until Californians are willing to admit they have problems, and are willing to vote in people that understand how to solve their problems, the deterioration will continue.

California will keep most of what it can if the Feds get rid of it under Romney if such a wretched thing like him becoming president should happen. There's a lot of cooperation all the way down to local levels. If it's passed to the state and they can't do it, they'll likely pass it down to local agencies. Already been done here; East Bay Regional Parks is currently operating several state parks.

That is the current trend, with all the wealthier and those with the higher paid jobs (which are bailing out of California) that will leave only the poor. This will make it rough, as the tax base is leaving the state, and how will they care for all the poor. It takes a wide range of people to support the government in a state, and when the biggest source of taxes leave it will be rough to take care of those remaining.
