But...but...you're not a boomer. OK, here's how it goes:

Fontucky: born at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Nullgeo: born at the beginning of the Roman Empire

Curmudgeon: Killed the last Woolly Mammoth

hopefully this clears things up a bit

Now I await my verbal ass kicking LOL

There are liberal areas in Texas. Anybody though who must live in a blue state and be surrounded by only liberals probably shouldn't move there. A lot of people though don't think much about politics and for them, Texas could work. It goes right along with what I said about career vs lifestyle and making compromises. Is the OP willing to live in a red state if it means better career prospects?

Let freedom ring! God bless Texas! To hell with socialistic state regulations!
Now that Texas has finally arrived in this thread (and just what took it so long is what I want to know!), as should be the case with every California Forum thread -- after all, where would California be without Texas love? -- shall we see how long a list of Texas testaments to the American Dream posters can submit?

I'll contribute this one for starters:
How Texas Just Made Miscarriages Even Worse | Jason Stanford

I mean, shouldn't a California thread about opportunity in California include Texas abortions leading the way to Californians realizing the American Dream? Makes perfect sense.

As with advice on finding employment (as well as finding an area for buying a home), do NOT go to general forums such as this one [1] or Reddit, where you will get a lot of noise and or people who are trying to support some narrative for whatever reason.

What was the reason you went to a university for? What were the goals of getting a degree? That should be the framework on what you do when you get the degree. If employment is in the picture, then you should investigate the possible types of employment you can get with that degree and see how obtainable it is before going to school.

I say this because I see degreed people who were expecting a job where the job market was not supporting employment with that major (art history?). Now if you were getting a degree for the sake of pursuing knowledge on that subject, then that's cool. However, it is no guarantee nowadays that it will lead to employment.

[1] Ironic that the point of this forum is supported by City Data

Speaking openly for myself, I was born looong before the advent of the Roman Empire ... Actually, I came on the scene during the transition from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic age ... a trying time ... I was witness to the passing of man's natural state into the world of strife, avarice and greed, constant conflict and, eventually of course, Twinkies.

They spend more time on the internet than any who came before. Coincidence?
True with a big BUT. That is a Big But as they were the first generation to grow up with the Internet.

Many people work on the Internet. They connect with their offices to work via the Internet and Intranet. They communicate between offices via the Intranet, Internet and email. They sell products over the Internet. They research as part of their jobs over the Internet. They work for Internet based companies. They do web design for the Internet.

The Internet is far from just being for entertainment.

We already outnumber Boomers allegedly. And supposedly we helped get Obama elected twice because of our internet savvy.

Yet we don't seem to be able to throw our considerable heft around on issues that probably matter to a vast majority of millenials - like tuition/ student loans. Maybe we lack the wealth, maybe it's not our time yet. No idea.
Most lack the interest.
