My girl and I have 4 days off coming up soon and live in Pleasanton, and were thinking of going to Hearst Castle. She's been here once before but I never have. Is there enough to do in the general area where we'd be able to make a 3-4 day trip out of it? We don't drink wine, but we love museaums / art / crafts / antiques / new adventures

Other than the sheer stunning beauty of the area, there isn't much there.

Definitely, if you include the surrounding towns. Go to Cambria, Cayucos, Morro Bay (go kayaking there or for a harbor cruise, SLO (explore downtown, check out the Madonna Inn, hike Bishop's Peak), you could even go down to Avila and Pismo for more fun. Tons to do all around.

You could take even more time and not see it all. Take Hwy 1 down after stops in Monterey and Carmel. After a day in San Simeon, head to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. Tons to see on this trek!

I live in Pleasanton too!
I enjoyed the tour at Hearst Castle enough that I would like to see the other tours so that could take a few days. They have 3-4 tours there. Along with the other things people mentioned maybe wine tasting inland. Remember the movie Sideways? It kind of put that region on the map for wines.
You might want to check out Solvang which is maybe an hour farther down south. It's like a little village in Denmark there with windmills.
It will be a great roadtrip for you two.
