There is an effort to recall a rep from Fullerton. Democrats changed the rules/law from right under their feet to prevent them from doing so, they will cheat their way to Utopia.

By the way, this gas tax was just the beginning of a $556 billion dollar project to reduce roads, build more bicycle lanes, and build more apartment housing. Expect more taxes in the next few years, you probably won't have a say in those either.

Well. As expected, the Department of Water Resources gave its approval on Gov. Brown's proposed 16 Billion dollar water tunnel project. No surprise there. No doubt, the water agencies that will have to foot this bill will pass along the cost to its customers. Cannot wait to see what the impact will be on the delta waterways. Conservationists say it will cause faster salt water intrusion inland.

I am puzzled on how this escapes the CA constitutional requirement of a 2/3 supermajority public vote?

Though sadly I doubt a referendum would do well anymore even in a general election let alone a special election as hardly anyone votes these days unless they are part of a lobby group which of course the pro tax pro regulation folks will win.

I was interested at why so many AZ plates at first I thought it was many AZ residents who spend summers at the beach to avoid southern AZ's super hot summers. I heard that AZ registration lasts as long as 5 years and driving licenses last all the way to age 65. Very unique compared to other states. By the way there is no law requiring ID if not driving anywhere in the US.

Gas sure spiked. I paid $2.94 today. I recently received my car registration & it jumped 10.00 to $93.00 (10.00 increase effective 4/1/17). That is crazy for a 32 yr old car. Next year it jumps 25.00 to 118.00. Brown sure is one greedy SOB. I have a smog due & I already know it will fail. I need to get a belt measured correctly & rolled onto to the smog pump, crank & water pump (The a/c clutch broke). It sure is not cheap owning a vehicle in ca (high dmv fees, gas, etc).

It is even worse here, no State income tax, and the property tax is 1.6% of 1/4 the value of the home, In effect .4% and .... no Mello Roos and the gas tax is about 1/2 what it is in CA AND no higher prices due to the CA special blends.

Oh, the CA special blend now is about 2% better than the gas in other States re emissions, but you get worse mileage with it, so the usage now is about equal to the emissions in other States.

The difference in energy is about 2% between summer and winter blends. If you live anywhere in the country with cold winters you get a different blend for the two seasons. The difference in fuel economy is probably negligible. I'm unable to find a difference in fuel economy between northern Oregon/Washington gas and the blend here in Northern California.

Also, fuel economy is better in warmer weather. My fuel economy is best above 90F. It decreases about a half a gallon less when the temperatures are below 50.

Pay attention to those gas price websites. It literally differs by a buck a gallon here.
