This is funny because I was thinking that. It seems to be a requirement these days. Needless to say, I'm not voting him but not for that reason. There's something sleazy about the guy. What he portrays to the public is not what he's like in real life. Then again, what politician is?

It seems like neither party has truly decent candidates. Politics as usual and run by the DNC/RNC not the actual voters. They are just given bad choices.

This is why we now have President Trump.

This is really true. I'm a moderate Democrat, and I'm so unhappy with some of the Democrat incumbents, that I will vote for another option, or no option. For instance, Anna Eshoo is the incumbent Congressperson for my district, but I absolutely will not vote for her. She's been in office forever and she's just become embarrassing.

I've just recently moved into her district, but I am a congressional hearing nerd. I actually watch pre-recorded hearings on YouTube.

The one that made me realize she was someone I would never vote for, was the hearing of the CEO of Equifax regarding the data breach. Eshoo showed up as the last person to question him. She was completely unprepared, had no idea what had already been asked of him, and just started blasting him without any cohesive purpose.

He had been very respectful of everyone questioning him for hours, but when she started blathering at him, obviously without a clue of what had already been done or asked, and in such an obviously unprepared way - he actually looked somewhat shocked and then smirked like she was a complete idiot - and he was right.

Still, he showed class and answered her idiotic questions and put up with her nonsensical attacks. You can find it on YouTube, and all you have to do is fast forward to the last 5 minutes of the entire hearing.

Oh, and she also sounded really drunk. My guess, is she went to some liquid lunch and ran over to the hearing with barely enough time to be able to say she was there.

She also didn't show up to the March for Our Lives event in her district. She sent a letter to the students instead, saying she had to go to a funeral for a fellow congressperson instead.

My thinking is, she should have sent flowers to the funeral and shown up at the march.

And then there's the mayor of San Jose, Sam Liccardo. He also didn't show up to the March for Our Lives event, and didn't even send an apology. And he's the fricking mayor! Couldn't even show up to an event in his own city for kids in his own city. Guess he couldn't handle the rain. Or he's taking NRA money.

Zoe Lofgren, on the other hand, did show up in the rain and gave a great speech.

We need to pay attention to what our representatives actually DO. Not just buy their rhetoric.

And Newsom is the ultimate. He has the practiced bent finger while spewing the rhetoric he thinks is expected, but anyone who checks out his record of attendance at the meager responsibilities he has now, will see him for the phony he is. Newsom wants to be in Washington DC and he just wants to use us to get there. Doesn't really care about the job at hand. We're merely stepping stones. Like he's just walking on all of our heads with no regard of whether or not it hurts us or gets us dirty.

Chiang is the least corrupt of the most qualified candidates for sure. But, I just don't think he has the cojones required to stand up to different special interest groups, etc. I think it requires someone who has the capacity to be a bit of an a**hole.

Well, not great, for sure. At least Villaraigosa's affair was with an adult older than 19 years old, like Newsom's. I had to look it up, but V's affair was with a Telemundo reporter.

Honestly, I think most men have affairs. So, that's not all that shocking to me. If it doesn't include sexual harassment or anything worse, and it's two consenting adults (out of their teen years, at least), it doesn't shock me that much. Heck, look at any of your favorite presidents, including JFK and you'll find affairs.

So, that alone doesn't necessarily deter me from voting for someone. I'd rather vote for someone who's had an affair with a consenting adult, than vote for a weirdo religious fanatic like Mike Pence, for instance. It almost makes you want to see Trump stay in office, just so we don't end up with Pence - God forbid.

You are right, vote for those with no morals, just self interest. Much better than voting for a person with morals.

Tony V. is pro Illegal alien. Then again, all of the Democrats are so debate or not, I’ll vote for the other guy. Anyone but a Democrat in this state.

The words politician and morals aren't usually seen together in the same sentence unless they are used to say they have none.
