Good points, especially the end of the article: "We may be done with COVID. I certainly am. But it is not done with us yet."

I don't recall saying that but even if I did what would that matter? You asked about cases, got your answer, then responded with deaths for whatever reason.

We talked about cases.

The deaths have little to do with policy, cases do. The death rate is higher in Texas because 1/4 of the state is obese. In California that’s much lower.

Can you name a virus that is done with us?

I'm sure that not allowing mask mandates, vaccine mandates or other basic public health precautions has something to do with it. Just sayin'

When your case rate is the similar but your death rate is much higher, we can comfortably say it doesn’t have a thing to do with mask or social distance measures.

Case numbers are similar but Texas has 10 million fewer people than California. So, we're doing much better on both measures.

If that were the case then we should have the lowest death rate but we don't.

We also aren't the most blue state overall, which is a big part of the equation. The Bay Area may be, but that doesn't represent the entire state population. The more conservative counties have much lower vaccination rates on average. Google it.

It's not just political leanings. Many ghetto types vaguely dislike Democrats less, but in practice don't vote much and if male probably don't get vaccinated. Los Angeles is dragged down partly by them.
