There’s a tract like that near Folsom.

My father immigrated at age 3 with his parents from Portugal to Oakland, CA. My mother was born here after her parents immigrated about 1910. There were 9 of us kids, so far 3 of us have left the Bay Area and come up to Washington state, one to Oregon, and two have passed. The others are still in CA, and probably not going to leave. When we moved here in 1993 most of our neighbors had moved here from CA, it was really interesting to meet so many neighbors from the Bay Area and Southern CA. There are still people coming here and to other states, but the "net" loss is minimized by many others still moving into CA.

Sure, why shouldn't they? People in SoCal can afford to move to Boise; people in Boise can't afford to move to SoCal. Generally speaking. This is news?

Zero to do with "affordability."

It has to do with DEMAND.

It’s because all the uhauls are going out of Ca not in so supply is low

The Idahoans I know would rather die then move to Ca. And they’re not poor

Citing a few anecdotal examples of those who prefer to stay in far right Hinterland do not make it fact.

I have a friend who moved from Idaho back to California a little less than a year ago, she said that she was stuck there for a decade until housing prices in Idaho went up enough to make it viable for them to sell their home and beat feet out of Idaho.
