Amen! I am definitely old school on that, Mutt. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

P.S. My compost pile is cooking nicely too

So what happens as the drought tightens it’s grip in California? A dystopian future as the Golden State shrivels away like the water staved lawns. Water refuges streaming away seeking a brighter future in another place. Armageddon? Perhaps that’s something of an exaggeration.

Looking into my crystal ball, I'd say those pesky environmentalists will have to remove the choke hold on CA and allow us to build desalination plants. It worked for Israel. You never hear them crying about lack of water.

Might even have to chuck in a modern nuke plant to cover everyone's electrical needs.

Yes. That too. It's been suggested but the elitists in the state don't want to muck up the scenery with d-sal plants or nuclear. This is progress on the move and something's going to have to change.

Our water comes from my beloved Paradise Lake. I don't flush because I want to save water for kayaking and fishing. The problem is Dear Wife goes into my bathroom twice a week and she'll flush it, needs it or not. She'll never get her membership card in the New Green Living Club, unfortunately. Once I told her the earth isn't flat and now she won't believe a single thing I'm saying.

Oh my. Maybe time to install a pay per flush? That might curb her enthusiasm. LOL j/k

I tried to put in a 1000 gallon tank below my patio and the city wouldn't let me. I could have saved ALL water and reused it in the back. Best I can do is barrels coming out of the washer.

Fast forward the city says I can now. Like I'm ripping out 10 grand of patio to install a tank.

People seem to tenaciously hold on to their disposables. I remember using cloth diapers (with a service) for our youngest 30 years ago, and even back then, friends thought I was nuts.
