In home support services have also been cut, and thousands of disabled persons will need full time nursing home care as the result. Why have the poorest of the poor been hit so hard? this group of people do not represent enough votes, plain and simple. How will they survive? Unfortunately most californians don't care.
no, SS benefits have only been frozen for 2 years, we don't know yet about next year. I doubt they will be frozen again. We got a COLA in 2009, only last year and this year did we get nothing. As for not representing enough votes, do you have any idea how long we are living, how many are on SS and who are the biggest voting block? That certainly has little to do with what we are and are not getting. Do I like what is happening to seniors? No, is there a reason why many of us are leaving or have left Ca? Yes, but SS benefits are not controlled by the state and you are wrong about when we got a raise. If you are only talking about SS disability, and Ca that I have no idea about.

If you are 90% dependent on SS you do not want to even think about moving to California. BTW, if you are an older dude, like you say, you may want to grow up and get over the artsy, weed friendly ideas.

I guess we should quit giving money to illegal aliens and welfare recepients. If we did that, we would have plenty of money to give to elderly and disabled.

Oh yeah, and quit giving free unnecessary medical and dental care to all the prison inmates.

The people of this state want a utopia, you have to pay for it; however, they don't want to pay. They want someone else too.
