My fiance & I are in the market for an rv or camper. We're in North Carolina relocating to California where we plan to stay on a relative's property till we can buy our own land & build a cabin. If anyone has an old trailer or rv they want to be rid of & you're near NC, please send me a PM. Thank you!
Our motor home is a 27 ft with a separate bedroom. It’s a 1993 with new tires. It only has 42k miles and we are asking 7k or best offer. We are in Northern Nevada.
When selling an RV ( or anything for that matter) and you get a ton of calls right away... there's a reason, so you might want to say, I'm taking offers today or this weekend, (what ever the best time frame is), and highest-best offer gets it. Now contracts or buying is often subject to satisfactory inspections, survey, etc. Factor that in, how you want to handle that.
For instance lets say the AC is old, still works, but the performance has diminished. In the agreement you might want to add a stipulation about repair replacement or dollar amount deduction at the sellers discretion. If you're selling it "as is" more likely some dollar amount is warranted, but not for a new AC unit, you know an "adjustment".
No road tests without a deposit, of course subject to buyers satisfactory acceptance after they drive.... unless of course you drive, then a local jaunt is fine. Do not let them get behind the wheel with out "showing me the money". Common practice for boats and RV's. Dealerships have the advantage there.
For buyers, do your homework, because the vast majority of the burden is on you. Better to cry 'cause you lost a deal than to cry 'cause you made the deal.
We got 22 to 23 mpg with our sold Roadtrek diesel class B on lower speed trips like Yellowstone (less mpg on interstates at 80 mph). 18 mpg around town.
Had two of those Sprinters - never got anywhere close to 16mpg unloaded. Full and road ready more like 12-14.
