I’m just a casual fan, but I have a friend who has all their albums and has seen them live many times.
A band I played in did quite a few of their songs, we kinda had to, our leader was that big fan
I mentioned and after all they’recanadian.....we played lots of Canuck Rock...Rush...BTO...Triumph...
Anyway, here is a list of a few of their best power-ballads and rockers....
Fast Train (1971)....their first hit off their debut album...unfortunately the only good song on the album.
Recorded at RCA Studios in Montreal (building later SPAR Aerospace...makers of Space Shuttle Canada Arm).
You Could Have Been a Lady (1972)...big early hit...actually a cover song.
Bad Side of the Moon (1972) ...another cover...this time Elton John!
Drop Your Guns (1972) ...one of their best...
Weeping Widow (1973) ....Jim Clench sang lead on this one ...not usual Myles Goodwyn...
Oowatanite ((1975) ...another Jim Clench song...notable for the “firebell” and a wicked lead solo,
with a very nice “modern” tone...three years before Van Halen!
I Wouldn’t Want to Lose Your Love ...and ...Tonite Is a Wondeful Time to Fall in Love (both 1975)...
two early Myles Goodwyn power-ballads.
Like a Lover, Like a Son (1976) ....another catchy tune.
You Won’t Dance with Me (1977)...yet another Goodwyn tear jerker...
Roller (1978) ....starting to crank up the volume in the late 70s
I Like To Rock (1979) ...always loved to play this one...nice phase shifter and distortion combo...
cheekly playing both the Rolling Stones “Satisfaction” and the Beatles “Day Tripper” riffs
during the fade out...
Say Hello (1979) ....another big hit off “Harder...Faster” album.
Sign of the Gypsy Queen (1981) ...big early 80s hit for the band...
Just Between You and Me (1981) ...last giant hit before they started to fade...disbanding in 1986.
Like the group, I wouldn’t go out and buy all their albums but definitely worth getting
a “best of / greatest hits” CD. Also Myles Goodwyn’s auto-biography book is good too.
