Besides, all of North America will probably make it up with a blistering hot summer with record heat like we have had the past decade. Due to climate change, a second Toronto will probably be built and populated on Baffin Island some day.
Yep. We're all getting it to varying degrees. That video on there that shows the eye of the vortex swirling in place right over the border near the Great Lakes is interesting to see. It's kind of like watching a gigantic hurricane of ice and snow just sitting there swirling round and round and expanding bigger and bigger. I've never seen something like that before over the middle of the continent.
I think everyone on the continent on the east side of the big north-to-south running mountain ranges is getting the worst of the cold temperatures. Here on the west side of the Rocky Mountains and Cascade ranges and down along the west coast we have been getting the high arctic winds and consequent snow storms, small earthquakes, lots of mountain snow avalanches and structural fires because of the weather but it hasn't been anything like as extreme and bitterly cold as what's been spreading it's way south down the middle of North America.
I heard on the news it's expected to start diminishing and breaking up into pieces around Tuesday/Wednesday and the temperatures will start rising back up above freezing towards cold but more normal seasonal temperatures.

In NW Mississippi it's not unprecedented, and of course Canada has nothing to do with it so this should perhaps be posted to the weather forum.
Hey you are on the tail end of the great plains, that's why us near Memphis call us the MID-south (mid-west and the deep south). Nothing between here and the north pole but flat plains.

To be expected this summer. This is La Niña. Also every 11 years starting in 1944; 1944, 1955, 1966, 1977 (shorter but more intense, three days over 100 in NYC, one day, I think, got to either 102° or 104°),1988 (the famous start to the "global warming" hysteria), 1999, 2010 and now maybe 2021.

And maybe instead of 100 percent Colombian coffee there will be 100 percent British Columbian coffee.
