It's what happens when the 20-40 group is fed up with no work, no social life, no career growth, no light at the end of the tunnel, and a decision that herd immunity might work so herd mentality kicks in. Sadly, some suffer stroke and many do not fully recover. The casualties are not just deaths, but also long term loss of quality of life.

The wording of that article is very wishy-washy. There is absolutely nothing but someone's speculation.

More Covid hysteria.

If the article is not acceptable, perhaps you should read the paper that is published in the Neurology journal Sept 15, 2020, and which is quoted and reviewed in the news article. Is that also hysteria and wishy-washy? Is the research in the paper faulty as well? Look at the methodology and results - let's discuss this rather than a apply a broad dismissal without explanation.

The journal has been published since 1951, so it can't be all that wishy washy and hysterical.

Stroke as a first symptom of covid in younger people is in the news across the country today.
"When it came to these younger patients, 45 per cent had no risk factors for COVID-19, and in 50 per cent of the cases involving younger patients, suffering a stroke was their first symptom of COVID-19.

This means that half of the younger COVID-19 patients in the study displayed zero COVID-19 symptoms before the onset of a stroke.

“They’re totally healthy people who develop COVID-19 and they've got strokes,” Dr. Luciano Sposato, one of the researchers from Western University, told CTV News. “That was quite surprising.”"

I will have to look into it. I had a TIA on October 31, 2017 which I doubt was Covid-related. I have recovered.

Are these TIA's or full-blown strokes?

Both stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack are addressed in the paper:

Manulife unveils COVID-19-related travel insurance: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/bu...572429872.html

Quote:
The Manulife plan includes emergency medical coverage up to $200,000 for COVID-19 and related conditions after a positive test result as well as emergency air transport to return home. That ceiling is a far cry from the $5 million in emergency medical expenses the company covers for non-coronavirus health issues.

Looks like a money grab. The Canadian government discourages all international travel at this time.

Risk factor for Manulife must be based on people typically taking 2 week vacations, and symptoms appearing most often at 2 weeks.

The insured amount does not cover covid hospitalization costs in many foreign countries. It's almost as though Manulife is offering covid travel insurance to encourage people to travel while banking on client ignorance of actual potential risk and cost.
