Hello,i am coming from Greece where i study electrical and computer engineering and i am seriously considering to continue my studies abroad. And why is that? The education in Greece, although it should be the primary concern,it is still very poor because the funds disbursed to universities and research are deficient.
Which one of the above options is more suitable for somebody who is accustom to temperate climate (not my first priority) and yearns for not only a well-organized education system but also for a promising work life as well?
I wish to continue my studies on biomedical or neuro-science and i would be grateful if you could give some advice.

Excuse me for my long post!

Why do you choose these countries? Forget Canada if climate is any concern.

Because they can provide some of the finest research programs in the scientific fields i am interested in.Furthermore, Switzerland is at the center of Europe very close to many other countries and not far from Greece.
I don't really know why a journey to Australia "frightens" me less than one to America, perhaps because i made the mistake to presuppose that US were vast and faceless.I certainly want to combine high education level and good life standards. For example, what if Sweden appears to be one of the most stable countries in the world? If i studied there i would have been depressed..!

For Canada you could take a look at these sites:

Canadian Biomedical Sciences and Engineering University Programs

Welcome to the Graduate Program In Neuroscience

If you want temperate climate in Canada then Vancouver BC is probably the most temperate if you don't mind 3-4 months of rain in the winter. I couldn't make any suggestions about Switzerland or Australia but perhaps you could post in the Australia/New Zealand forum for some feedback.

.

It sounds like Switzerland might be your choice since you have the European connection, however to me Australia would be just a friggin paradise I'd go just because of the weather, the people, and it's a fascinating place. I think the education there is quite good, not sure what the comp eng schools are like, but you may want to find some Aussies to ask about their secondary education schools.

Also don't discount American universities, they still have the best in the world, although they don't come cheap... California Institute of Technology (Caltech) could be what you're looking for in your field or MIT.

Apparantly Australia's best university is Australian National...

Yepp Switzerland would be a good choice. But do you speak french? or german?
the epfl and epfz are well known school if you speak french or german I recommend you to study there. You might also be eligible for government help and won't need any visa or work permit(not 100% sure about that though) as you are an EU student.
