since the interferon failed(lung nodules keep growing) , I had yervoy treatments in late'14. it gave me diarrhea so i took prednisone. as i was on my lowest dose of prednisone and went off it i noticed fatigue and poor appetite. tho i recently developed a normal appetite, when i start to eat i can't eat very much at all. ive lost weight tho not drastically, so that i no longer have to take my diabetic meds

im waiting for the ct scan results of the lung. if the yervoy failed, he might do extra yervoy or a new treatment keytruda

at the end of this week im having IVG therapy to raise my platelets

hematollogy doc thinks that the platelets are low due to either the yervoy or the fact that the cancer may have spread to the bones. this tipped me off to my current issues with the stiff joints, etc

i worry about the bones because about a month ago i felt like i had mild arthtitis. a month later, when i sit in a chair i cannot spontaneously get up, my legs are very stiff and i have to walk slowly and contordedly before i straighten out. same with getting in and out of my car. its also very hard to bend and even put my shoe on. there is no issue when i walk. also, i notice soreness in the arms in the elbow area

im going to have a bone marrow biopsy soon. im not worried about the procedure, ive had plenty, i fear the results

is it true that going off prednisone can cause the joint issues and appetite issues?

I think so. My sister had to take it for long periods and said the effects took time to wear off.

im relieved to hear that. my oncologist said my bone issues, fatigue and poor appetite most likely are due to ipilimumab and prednisone. meanwhile they got the scan results back and then lung scan showed that the lung nodules, which kept growing with each scan, stopped growing. also, the IVG helped increase my platelets. not too bad

I made it to treatment this past week!! i met my 3x per week goal. now that the medicine is in my system more often, im getting fatigue but its preferable to the awful agoraphobia ive been dealing with. ive also been using a good liquid adult tylenol that i got off amazon. it seems to be more powerful and absorb better than tablets. i did not have to nap once this past week from chills
