An interesting research study shows the link between high sugar consumption and a higher level of metastasis and tumor growth. I remember reading something regarding this years ago but it was strongly discounted - possibly by the sugar industry(?). Here we are years later and additional studies are being done. Just wanted to share and pass along the information. Link is below.

I wish I knew which sugar was which - because they mention the 'sugar' in Coke and ketchup - but I find it very hard to find sugar as an ingredient in these - 99% of the time it's HFCS. Sometimes 'organic' versions of ketchup will show sugar as an ingredient vs. HFCS. Anyway, just wondering if or what the difference is. And mostly, which one they fed the mice in the study.

(Please don't tell me they are the same. Thank you.)

I know two women who both got cancer at 55

One anal, one rectal

Both women were a perfect weight

One was a medal winning sprinter

Both ate well, had low stress lives

The one thing in common - a taste for white wine

I think they both drank it almost daily

The study looked at fructose and sucrose.

I just read an excellent book about this--Tripping Over the Truth: the return of the metabolic theory of cancer illuminates a new and hopeful path to a cure by Travis Christofferson. Going back to Otto Warburg it looks like. Before I got my dx I was a sweetaholic but stopped eating extra sugar as soon as I found out.

My sister is sick from cancer and she also heard that cancer loves sugar. One thing that caught my attention was when she was getting a PET scan, it was explained that the dye contained sugar and if cancer was present, it would take in the sugar and light up the scan.

Yes, that is how the test works. An infection can show up and present the same way.
