OP something I need to apologize for. I've gone on and on about allopathic (allopathic as in "science-based", so-called "modern" medicine) protocols for BC, but haven't written anything about alternative approaches. Its what I know something about, it was the path I chose to follow, and despite or because of it, I'm still here 25 years later. No way to turn back the clock, do something different and know whether it would have been better. I don't choose to waste my time speculating about it. All any of us here should be doing is relating what we've done and the outcomes.
I did not mean to assume anything about what you might prefer to do. One thing you will start noticing as others learn your situation is that they will start suggesting all sorts of cures, supplements, products, doctors, "authorities", procedures, beliefs and devotions from one end of the spectrum to the other. One that really raises my hackles is the admonition to "always think positive". Well, guess what? When standing in the middle of all this an occasional negative thought will crop up and it won't kill you. Give yourself a break for being human. There's a lot of hooey out there, nebulous claims that can't be supported or proven. Charlatans just waiting to take advantage of someone's desperation. Some might be proven effective in future but not now. You are living in the now. There's nothing wrong with listening, researching, and making a thoughtful choice. Others can and will disagree.

No need to apologize! I am interested in anything you have to say. I find something like this to be especially hard, because everyone is different and what works on one may kill the next. And you won't know till you get to the end of the road. If your end of the road is 90, you probably did ok. If it's 50, maybe not.
Anyway, I appreciate you listening to my thoughts (and fears!) I'm glad you're still here

Hang in there and don't be too hard on yourself for having a melt down. This is to be expected. At least by keeping us updated and spending time on the board you are actually getting some needed relief. Let us know when you hear more and prayers are going your way.

Parnassia - Very good advice as usual!
OP - People will have opinions and they will insist on sharing them with you. You’ve mentioned your partner and said he’s very supportive. Maybe consider making him your gatekeeper if you’d prefer to not deal directly with people’s opinions and suggestions. Let him tell them you’re happy with your decisions about your treatment. Let him change the subject, deflect or simply escort them out if their opinions are annoying you. Now is not the time to be polite about people’s opinions. Now is the time for people to focus on you and be supportive of whatever choices you make.
I hate the “think positive” crap too. You’re entitled to feel what you feel!
As much as I looked forward to the answers the MRI would give, I got nauseous after the dye was injected. I have to go back AND they said they have to start the test from the beginning (dye was inserted halfway through). BP dropped like a stone.
Yes, I had an even worse meltdown tonight. I am usually a strong person, I've had a lot of big bumps in my roads, but this one has shaken me to the core

Completely understandable. Of course it will shake you. FWIW, being told you have BC at age 36 isn't exactly on the radar either.
You will get past this. Now you know something important about yourself. Something you learned in good time. You have a lot of space within which to make decisions and get on with your life. Focus on that.

I think bottom line is, it's earth shattering no matter what your age is.
Can't wait to get through the MRI so I can get those decisions made! Picked up the meds today and will try one tomorrow to make sure I don't have a reaction to that.
In the meantime, staying busy by working on my house plus it was nice today so we went for a nice long walk this afternoon.

Aren't YOU lucky. .
I spent it shoveling snow, maneuvering my car around the snow removal guy, and caulking siding. I own two houses with decks at the moment (downsized to a smaller house and moved last fall, the big house won't be on the market until spring...so I get to keep both of them accessible ). It has snowed at least 8" every night for the past week. Why anyone in snow country puts a deck on a house escapes me. They are nothing but trouble. When you aren't shoveling snow off them you're chipping ice off them, sweeping them, sanding them, re-screwing the planks, staining them. Very little time spent actually USING them. And on the rare days you are, the bugs are eating you alive. If they aren't it's because it is too windy...so you probably don't use them then either.
The snowplow driver managed to skid into the house the other day, putting a 1' gash in the siding. He has been apologizing ever since. I know he'll repair it, but its not something you expect to find upon returning home. He showed up with a caulking gun and more apologies. It was 12 F. That caulk is going to take a verrrry long time to dry.
The dog is wearing the Cone of Shame at the moment after minor surgery. The Cone is a perfect snow shovel. She won't go outdoors unless I go with her (which means getting totally dressed for weather. Remember, it is 12 F) and hold the danged thing above the snow for her. Otherwise she ends up with a face full. That helps her forget that she needs to pee so both of us get to stand out in that wind until she remembers.
Wow you had a day!!!! I live in a snowy area but we've had a great winter (in my book ) I'll need another one next year without all these appointments though
Sigh...not again. You do realize there are different types of calcifications right? Doubt Primrose oil will have much effect on malignancies lurking IN some of those calcifications! Focusing on the wrong problem might result in not finding something serious until after it has spread beyond the breast.
I want said they shouldn’t be checked out. Of course she had hers checked out by a doctor. But for people that have this as a chronic condition, evening primrose does help.
