Hello again -

Just dropping in to say I'm thinking about you all. My long-term care is limited to my old cat these days. He's 20. He has lots of medical issues, but unlike his human counterparts, he does not know it. He doesn't fret over it, he just lives in the moment.

I'm wishing you the joy he brings me. And I hope that your loved ones live in the moment. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow is unknown. Take your time and enjoy today.

Very nicely said MissNM! I just recently had to have my 26 year old lady kitty put to sleep--like your kitty she had no issues with life except she was old. I miss her terribly!
There is much to be learned from our four-legged friends!

26 OMG! That is amazing.

Our boy is slightly deaf, slightly blind, slightly demented, kidney failure, heart failure, and is hypo-thyroid. He walks around the house howling and prefers laying on us as opposed to the furniture. He grumbles a lot - his is my little old man.

Have you considered getting another little one? It'll give your honey something different to complain about, while secretly loving every minute of the new monster.

My Mom complained about my sister's cat all the time - yet, she would sleep with her hand on the cat.

You are so cute....I have several other elderly cats that moved with me from CA to NC and when I got here I ended up with 6 feral--now tamed cats and we got all our cats neutered and spayed by doing volunteer work at the Humane Society--a different county.... Those stay out side and enjoy their lives to the fullest. My elderly stay inside for the most part and their days are numbered but we try to live each day to the fullest. Lots of petting and loves.... I also have a Basset Hound my son decided he didn't want because it chewed things--a puppy after all--a good thing I didn't have those thoughts about my son when he was a child! Animals are my life they are what I have lived for plus of course my DH...and he has become a much more involved animal lover. Honestly if I didn't have my critters my life would be miserable. They are about the best thing right now in my life! You are so thoughtful for thinking about an animal to help us to get through these hard times and believe me they do make it so much better! Thank you!

Me, too. On my way to Diana's for a workout (she's my friend/trainer). Hope your day is a good one. Hugs, all.
