I unscrewed the cap from the Tidy Cats lightweight litter, took a sniff, and put it right back on the shelf. Yuck.

We use Fresh Step Extreme Multi-cat clumping litter. Sure there may be some dust but it aint like it lingers around for days or even hours. Its usually dissipated into the air within a cpl minutes if that.

I don't know if this litter has been mentioned before, but will say from experience, it is the best. No dust, no noticeable scent and when cleaned daily (I have only one kitty) and kept at about 3 or 4" deep it will definitely last a month. I've been buying it now at least a year, and can't say enough good about it. A little more expensive, but well worth it.

"The Best Cat Litter in the World" awesome. I get it at PetSmart.

I was given a 28lb box of Scoop Away which is lightly scented. I put it in the box mixed with the unscented and Snickers used it just fine. As long as he has litter, he doesn't care.

I use Worlds Best cat litter because it is 100% natural corn and flushable. Yes, I like the clumping. I would not use Fresh step because my first cat died of stomach cancer. What ever a cat licks can be deadly to them. Be careful. Its worth it to spend more money on litter than doctor bills. I flush #2 . I bag #1 for the trash.

Just flush it wisely, not too much at a time and it will not clog or harm your drain.

I used Cat's Pride Unscented for years, and now it's been discontinued. It's still on their website, so I emailed the company. All they did was offer to send me coupons, and wanted my zip code, so they could tell me where to find it.

I told them that I would be switching to Tidy Cat unscented, which is readily available.

I used both and if I could, I prefer clumping. It is easier to scoop, less odor and less mess. However, I had to switch back because of cost ($30 a month on litter for 1 cat v. $15), it gets stuck to the bottom of pan so it was very difficult to clean, and clay gets stuck on my kitty's fur and paws. My kitty pees a lot because of his failing kidneys so the additional stress wasn't worth it, unless they made it more affordable and easy to clean.

That will happen with most any clumping litter if there isn't enough litter in the pan. If you keep it at least 3" thick or so, that will pretty much eliminate the sticking problem. If your cat is a 'digger' you might need even more. I have 2 cats that like to dig and they like the one high-sided box I have, so I keep a good 4" level in that one. Very rarely do I have to scrape a clump off the bottom of the pan.

I used a Hard Clumping brand called Dr Elsey's Ulra in the Blue Bag.

It costs about $1.20 per pound & I buy it online with other items in a 40# box with free shipping. Works great, l have one cat gave her 3 litter boxes all covered.

I work long 10-12 hour shifts at work so the extra boxes to prevent mishaps & box issues. Works well for me, I clean the boxes after work & again in the morning before work. I also bought a tough poop scooper with an extra long handle & put the poo in a gain scented extra small trash bag I found at the dollar store.

^^^ Agree about Dr. Elsey's Ultra -- it is the best yet that I've found, have been using it for about 3 yrs. Previously used "America's Best", but nixed that after trying Dr. Elsey's. Current 'baby' is 17 and has Stage 2 kidney disease. With her p'ing more than usual the AmBest didn't perform as well, it got mushy within a day and difficult to clean. Glad I switched to Dr. Elsey's Ultra for her. (Using good box liners is recommended also.)
