I named my adopted sweetie female: BeBe which is French for 'baby'
Inkie
Daisy
Two syllable names work well.
Bebe is one of my little black cat's nick names. Pronounced either Bee Bee or Bay Bay or even Beh Beh...she prefers the Bay Bay pronunciation but I still use all. I also alter the accent syllable from 1st to last.

Those were the names of two of my grandmothers sisters. Wonderful human beings they were, and I know for a fact that they would have been honored to have cats named after them.
You guys are giving me some great ideas. If she was a male she was going to be Binx from Hocus Pocus. So far Cinder is winning. I called a bunch of names out and she just looked at me like I was nuts.
I do like Binx-and so what if Binx in the movie was a male. It was his last name, not his first. As a kid, we had a female cat name Clyde (who was black by the way). We had two black cats-Bonnie & Clyde. We were rehoming Bonnie and my mother told my sister to get her. Well, we discovered that we really rehomed Clyde and kept Bonnie-the hard way. So, we just continued to call her Clyde. So, Clyde gave birth. (This was the days before spay & nurturering were the norms.)
Don't mean to not vote for the names listed.....none really jump out at me. We used to have a black cat named Lena. Loved that cat, and her name was easy.
Jinx is better, and suits a black cat. Minx suits a female.
