I think Fluff has almost forgiven me for hauling her off to the vet (strange people)in a cat carrier (closed in), getting shots (ouch!) and spayed (eeep!).
I have forgiven her for costing me so much money.
ergo: I am more forgiving than Fluff. not as cute but more forgiving.

I've had a theory about that for some time now.... that their willingness to forgive us is directly affected by how empty their stomachs are. It's been my experience that their entire demeanor will improve greatly at the sound of a can opener.

Well, … it also depends on what the can opener opens and how much is being presented how. Remember - we are cats!!!
Well, I haven't seen Elvira since we got home from the vet today. This was a follow-up-second visit in 2 weeks. I'm sure she is VERY upset with me. (BTW-she is good to go.)

You're quite right, of course. I forgot to include that the can opening thing involves a can of people tuna.

I know of no other animal that can get in a bigger (and truth be told more effective) snit than a cat.
They can lay on a guilt trip like nobody else.
You have a point there. I had to take my long-haired lady Sheba to the vet for a rear end job (sanitary trim). It was her first time, and apparently she didn't like that cool draftiness back there. We were not on speaking terms for almost 3 days. Had to have it done again recently, and this time it didn't seem to bother her much at all. Guess she figured she'd milked it for all the drama she could, and moved on.
