I run a website dedicated to pet food awareness where I evaluate different leading pet foods on the market by their ingredients and make recommendations based on them.

I won't put the link here, because I don't want it to seem like I am advertising. If you want the link, you can message me.

The reason for this thread is simply to ask what people feed their cats. Do you feed dry, wet or a combination of both?? What brands of foods do you feed??

We feed Natural Balance dry food right now. We have experimented with quite a few foods over the past couple of years. Among those, Orijen, Merrick Before Grain and Wellness Core have been favorites. We even got a few samples from a local pet store to do a "taste test"...which was pretty fun.

We generally do not feed wet anymore. The reason being, it causes one of our cats to vomit almost every time. Because it would be rather unfair to him to not feed him wet food but to feed our other cat it, we just don't feed it anymore. We do give them treats though...nearly on a daily basis.

Blue Buffalo weight control dry and Iams wet for a morning treat. It's what works best for the unipuker after a whole bunch of trial and error.

I switched my cat from Wellness regular to wet food after the vet recommended he lose weight and could develop UT issues. He will absolutely not eat any of the "good" wet foods on the market - I've tried them all much to the delight of the neighbor cat who gets his leftovers. So, right now I'm feeding him Fancy Feast Classic (pate style). I give him 2 cans a day, which from what I've read is about 190 calories. He was 16.25 pounds when I pulled him off the Wellness and he is somewhere around 14 now, but needs to be about 12. I do keep Wellness Core on hand for those days I've either run out of canned or he refuses to eat it, but he doesn't get it on a regular basis.

Right now I feed my kitty some organic wet food (3 single packs) and a raw chicken thigh.

My cat tends to vomit if I give her a whole single pack of wet food, coz she eats it all in one slurp or something. So I just give her half a portion at a time. It works

Dry: Purina Pro Plan, Purina One, Friskies, Fancy Feast,
Wet: Friskies pouches, Friskies large cans, Fancy Feast, Purina Pro Plan large cans
Fresh meat live: mouse, bird, and sometimes rabbit.

They get wet food 3 times a day on a schedule (to keep them close to home and indoors at night). My cats refuse any and all other brands of wet food and one refuses to eat fish. They will not touch the "indoor" varieties whether dry or wet.

My spouse wants to let some live mice loose in the house so the kitties will get the thrill of the hunt.

Until that time, they get Blue Buffalo dry food and Friskies canned food -- no pate, thankyouverymuch; they prefer the savory shreds or whatever the heck they're called.
