I honestly don't know what happened. He even clapped and laughed at first while Jada just rolled her eyes.
Now, he's blattering about love while he just moments ago ***** slapped someone on live TV. Hypocrite.
And that was the most incomprehensible, rambling speech I ever heard. He joked whether he will be invited back at the Oscars. He ought to be banned. Here he won and all that is lost because he couldn't keep it together.
Nah. I lost respect for him. Chris Rock is a comedian. I've heard worse things thrown at celebrities & they didn't go throwing slaps.
I think what people are missing is that Jada is struggling with alopecia. That's why she has shaved her head. So that "joke" from Rock was pretty disgusting. You don't joke about people's illnesses.
Jada Smith and Will Smith were a major force behind the “Oscars so white” movement in 2016, when no black actors were nominated for awards. Jada made a point of boycotting the awards (she didn’t attend or watch apparently.) She has been very active in making sure Hollywood is more “diverse.”
Six year later, they finally have their moment. The Oscars are more diverse, Hollywood has more roles for minorities, there are quotas going into effect, etc. Will Smith reaches the pinnacle of his career….and he embarrasses himself in front of the world.
How stupid.
I don’t want to hear anything about how Will was defending her. They have an open marriage; they’ve discussed it in interviews many times.

Will could have stood up and yelled “My wife is the most beautiful woman I know” and he would have received a 5 minute standing ovation. Instead he acted like an idiot. His Oscar win will forever be tainted by his behavior.
